Hand-in-Hand
Services adults living with intellectual, mental and/or physical challenges aged between 55 and 70 years old. The participants live on low-incomes, are often stigmatized in society and are rarely given the opportunity to partake in affordable cultural, recreational and leisure activities. Weekly programming consists of library, physical fitness, math and literacy projects, group discussions, games and other activities to help participants develop or maintain skills that enable them to reach their full potential. We offer a welcoming community in which each participant is cared for, celebrated, has a voice, feels valued and empowered.
During the summer months, we offer a five-week Day Camp program which provides recreational and leisure activities in the community. Our activities are adapted to meet the needs and abilities of our participants. We organize day trips to the Ecomuseum, bowling at the Rose Bowl, visit to Atwater Market, swimming at the community pool and much more.
